Sometimes it feels like time just slips through our fingers and a week, a month, or even a year turns into one, long and chaotic day. I want to share with you 5 time management tips that may help you take a fresh look at your life timetable.

Analyze and reconsider your schedule

It may look obvious but the first step in organizing the time is realizing where it goes throughout the day. Download the time tracker app or write down your activities during the week. The main point here is to identify the gaps, reduce the number of time killers, and optimize the processes that can be made faster and easier.

Create a To-Do List

Create a To-Do list which includes realistic tasks and put a time limit to each of them. If you are trying to achieve a big goal, divide your aim into little parts and fill them into your To-Do list. In case a task has no resolution for a while and the time limit has passed, analyze the task, and try to find what is preventing you from completing it. It is also important to create a plan with a fresh mind, take your time on the weekend to peacefully arrange and prioritize all the plans in your head.

Complete the most prior tasks first

It is not as easy as it sounds, I know. We all tend to procrastinate and wait until the deadline appears and start to stare at us with a disapproving look. But completing the most crucial tasks in the first part of the day leaves us plenty of time afterwards for other plans. And If the main tasks require tones of time, you will be able to finish them within a deadline.

Filter and block irrelevant distractions

Today, we depend on our gadgets and sometimes even feel helpless without a phone in our pocket. All the distractions that come from our devices immediately get our attention, that is why filtering and blocking is a wise decision. Put the useless and disturbing notifications off, spend some time organizing your workspace, unsubscribe from promotional email newsletters.

Use the tools to simplify your life

Do not try to remember everything and stop filling your head to the limit. Use online calendars, cloud storage, applications with notes — everything that can make your day easier and put some structure and order in it.

I have listed some of the general rules, that will keep your mind clean and give you some extra time. Find the gaps, eliminate the time killers, analyze your activities, and fix your schedule.

Time is not limitless, but we all can definitely do more. Leave your thoughts in the comment section if you have something to share or add.
